2008 NBA Playoffs

The 2008 NBA playoffs have been very exciting so far. The Atlanta Hawks have taken the Boston Celtics to a game seven, which will be played tomorrow in Boston. Who would have thought that an 8 seed would give a 1 seed such a run for their money. But that's what the Hawks have done to the Celtics. Joe Johnson of the Hawks has been a monster in this series and Mike Bibby has played well too.

Having said all that, I still think the Celtics will wrap up the series tomorrow in Game 7 because they are playing in Boston. A tough place to play if you are the visiting team. But, you never know.

Poor Tracy McGrady! He just can't seem to get out of the first round of the playoffs. The Rockets just lost their series to the Utah Jazz. The Rockets did lose Yao Ming for the season back in December due to injury. But, Yao was there last year and Houston still lost in the first round then too. McGrady could be one of those players that goes down as one of the best to not win a championship. Kind of like Charles Barkley. Or Karl Malone and John Stockton. Great players with no championship rings.

Another great matchup in this year's NBA playoffs is the New Orleans Hornets against the San Antonio Spurs series that started tonight. It is the battle of the point guards as Chris Paul matches up against Tony Parker. Should be a great series!

The Hornets went on to beat the Spurs tonight in Game 1 in New Orleans. David West had 30 points for the Hornets and, get this, Tim Duncan had only 5 points in the Spurs' loss. It was Duncan's lowest scoring playoff game since 1999 against the Portland Trailblazers. The Hornets lead the series, 1-0. The Spurs look old.

There is another exciting series that starts tomorrow. The Los Angeles Lakers will play the Utah Jazz. Deron Williams of the Jazz is an exciting young point guard and he will be a load to handle for the Lakers. Of course, the Lakers have Kobe Bryant and he will definately be a load to handle for the Utah Jazz.

The Lakers made a huge trade that has got them playing well in the playoffs. They obtained Pao Gasol from the Memphis Grizzlies. Or should I say they "Stold" Pao Gasol from the Grizzlies. They traded the underacheiving Kwame Brown to Memphis. What was Memphis thinking??!!
