Stephen Strasburg Rookie Cards.

Will Stephen Strasburg live up to the hype that has been bestowed upon him? After all he was the #1 pick of the 2009 MLB draft by the Washington Nationals. We do know one thing for sure and that is Stephen Strasburg has owned hitters in the Minor Leagues! He has pitched nearly 50 innings in his young baseball career and has a microscopic ERA of 0.99. But as we all know, pitching to minor league hitters is not like facing Albert Pujols, Chase Utley or Ryan Howard. He
will be seeing a lot of those super star hitters when he gets called up to the big leagues in a few weeks from this writing. But I, like many baseball fans, believe that Strasburg is the real deal and will be a great pitcher in the Major Leagues. And the Nationals have done a nice job of grooming their young phenom. Instead of throwing this kid in the Majors at the start of the 2010 baseball season, they started him in Double A, then promoted him to Triple A. This gave Strasburg a chance to build his confidence and it will get him ready when he gets to DC with the big club in early June 2010. And baseball card collectors have been buying up Stephen Strasburg rookie cards in droves as the anticipation builds as his MLB debut is nearly upon us. Case in point: A Stephen Strasburg 2010 Bowman Chrome Superfractor recently sold for $17,000 on eBay. Huh? Bidding started at $0.99 and was at $7,000 in 24 hours. So, it is safe to say that cardboard collectors are "buying" the hype on Strasburg being a super-star pitcher. Only time will tell.
